Geotechnical Investigation and Architectural Planning for SIFA Office Building – Apia, Samoa

OSM Consultants was engaged by the Samoa International Finance Authority (SIFA) to provide expert civil engineering, structural engineering, and architectural planning services for the development of a new four-storey office building in Apia’s central business district. This strategic government infrastructure project required thorough geotechnical investigations to assess the suitability of the Beach Road site and to guide the design process for a safe, durable, and climate-resilient facility. Despite the challenges posed by Samoa’s border closures during the project period, which limited the availability of overseas specialists, OSM utilized innovative virtual coordination methods to maintain continuous communication and ensure project continuity. Our team efficiently coordinated with local and international geotechnical drilling experts to produce a detailed geotechnical design report, which formed the technical backbone for resilient and code-compliant structural engineering solutions.
